Living life in the fast lane (Kappa)? Then maybe the DXRacer Racing Series is the right gaming chair for you! This model has been in DXRacer’s lineup for a long time and seems to be a favorite around the globe: if you’re following Korean League of Legends (the LCK) for example, this exact DXRacer model is the one Faker and Co. sit on. Its roots lie in motorsports, where similar racing seats with similar side support can be found in most modern touring cars. But: is it also the best DXRacer for you? Let’s find out!
Is the DXRacer Racing Series right for you?
If you’ve already taken a look at the different DXRacer series then you’ll know: there’s a lot of different sereis (Formula, Drifting, King,…) with very different measurements. The reason for that: our gamer bodies have different measurements as well! That’s why you should always choose a gaming chair that fits to your specific body size.
DXRacer Racing Series: Body Size
The DXRacer Racing Series has the same basic design as the Formula Series: both have the exact same dimensions when looking at the spec sheet. Also, both are built for gamers that are up to 5’9“ (1.80m) tall. In our own experience that is no hard cut though – if you’re a bit taller the Racing Series will still fit quite well.
DXRacer Racing Series: Weight Limit
You’re a bit on the heavier side? Then you should maybe rather look at the King Series or Tank Series. The DXRacer Racing Series is for gamers up to 200 lbs, so anything above that might not be too beneficial for the chair (even though in some instances DXRacer themselves claim 240 lbs to be the Racing’s weight limit).
DXRacer Chairs: Basic Features
…what all DXRacer Series have in common:
Feature | Explanation |
---|---|
Height Adjustment: | Every DXRacer chair's height can be manually adjusted by pulling the lever below the seat cushion. That way it'll fit under every individual computer table. |
Steel Framework: | Every DXRacer chair has a steel framework inside the seat and backrest, so it will be way more durable than the average office chair. |
Ergonomic Shape: | Every DXRacer chair is ergonomically shaped to perfectly fit your back (and butt!). This also stems from car seats in motorsports. |
Headrest & Lumbar Cushion: | Every DXRacer comes with two additional cushions (headrest and lumbar) – in case you need to further adjust your ideal seating position. |
Features of the DXRacer Racing Series
Every gamer is different, and so are DXRacers. Here’s what makes the Racing Series unique:
Adjustable Arm Rests:
Depending on the exact model of the Racing Series that you choose, the arm rests are adjustable in different ways: the more inexpensive models (OH/RC or OH/RF) only offer height adjustment, while the Racing ‘OH/RT, OH/RB or OH/RL’ offer sideways and forward movement. The OH/RJ is the premium version, offering full 4D adjustability.
Sturdy Aluminum Base:
Except one model, all DXRacer Racing chairs have a sturdy aluminum base (these are always the glossy ones). Only the OH/RC model uses hard nylon for the base, but is also the most inexpensive chair out of the Racing Series.
Recline up to 135 degrees:
Need a nap? Just pull the lever to recline your back rest by incredible 135 degrees! All models of the Racing Series offer this option, so you can always save yourself the long walk to the bed if you’re tired.
Fabric or Artificial Leather:
Just like the Formula Series, you can get your DXRacer Racing with different cover materials: either fabric (more inexpensive, but I actually like it more as it feels more natural) or faux leather (more expensive and looks better).
